adobe reader on XP

I have XP Home Edition and cannot get adobe reader to
ever initialize. The logo comes up on screen but freezes
after that. Anyone have any suggestions??

PS; Have re-installed, de-fragged, scan disc, software
repair and nothing seems to solve the issue.

ever think it might be an issue with the adobe and not xp?
uninstall and reinstall Adobe reader.

uninstall and reinstall Adobe reader.

And search the Registry for any remnant references to Adobe before you
reinstall. Sometimes these leftovers cause a lot of flaky behaviour.
Sadly, uninstall does not always claen up the registry as it should.

I use regedit (built into win2000/XP) and RegClean (3rd party utility.)
