Adobe Reader 7.0

I have recently opened a manual downloaded to me by a vehicle manufacturer.
The document automatically opened in Adobe Reader 7.0.

However the print is poor, the letters being sort of made up of blocks, very
close together and so difficult to read. Sorry for the non-technology
explanation but I'm a novice in such matters!

Is it possible to change or improve the font/spacing or is it the result of
the quality of the original download from the other end?

Help please! As usual in words of one syllable!

Many thanks

It is not possible to say anything for sure without seing the document.

The way it was created might be incorrect, or fonts are not embeded
and missing from your system, very different versions of Acrobat might
have been used, he might have used a not-quite-compatible PDF solution
(there are many non-Adobe tools producing PDF)
