Adobe 8.1 compatibility with word 03?

I installed adobe 8.1 last night and today word 2003 will not open. If I
restart and try to open word first it will open in safe mode, but if I open
outlook and try to write a new e-mail it will not work and it looks for a
solution one does not exist.

Anyone have a suggestion or have this issue and find a resolution?

Acrobat. I also have had some windows updates go through. Word is only not
working for one user on the pc.. our other user id on the pc is fine.

Acrobat 8.1 is compatible with Office 2003, so the implications are that
1. It is not installed correctly - try repairing the installation for the
installation where it has a problem.
2. You have another add-in that conflicts with its add-in
3. You have some macro function in normal.dot that conflicts.

The two links you provided fixed my issue. It was my normal.dot file.

The same problem occurs with 8.1 professional. This fix solves the problem.
