AdminPak taking control

I have installed the AdminPak on my 2000 Pro machine.
After the installation I can only make changes to the
Active Directory on my machine only. If I makje a change
on my 2000 server it doen not take affect nor does it show
on my PC. If I make a change on my PC the change is
imediate and will show on the server. What did I do. It
almost seems like my PC is the new DC for the network.
 
Your Windows 2000 pro is not DC and it can't be. See, to which domain you
are connecting and what are your credentials.
