Administrator Account

I want to stop XP Pro from using the Adminstrator account as the default log
in.

I have set myself up as an Administrator but when I turn on the computer the
built in XP Pro Adminstrator is the default log in. I have to wait for the
log in process to finish then log off Administrator so I can log in as
myself. I have tried to disable the Administrator but then XP Pro takes
forever (15 minutes) to load.

How do I get rid of the Administrator at Log In?

If you want to your account to be Auto Login after Windows boot then:

1. Click Start - Run - type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2
2. If "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
option is already unchecked then make a check mark.
3. Click on the User Name you want to Auto Login with and then uncheck the
"Users...." option again.
4. You will be asked to enter the password (if any else leave blank).
5. Restart your PC to check the changes.

Hope this help, let us know!

Here are two ways to control auto login.

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install TweakUI for XP and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
