administrator account password

HELP!!! i am a college student and i have had my computer for approx. 2 years
now. I just moved to a new home and my roomates are using my computer too. I
thought I could be smart and delete my user account so that a password would
not have to be entered everytime someone logged onto my computer. Now the
administrator account is the only one accessable from the logon screen and I
do not have the password as my ex boyfriend built the computer and set it all
up. I do not have contact with him to obtain the password. I am able to log
in after using ctrl + alt + delete and login with my old user account but it
has limited access and need full access to all of the programs on my
computer. I use this on a daily basis and I need to know if there is a way to
bypass the adminstrator password so that I can reset the accounts. The second
problem is when I do get into my old user account and go to the User Account
screen it is blank only displaying back and forward arrows and User Home with
no option to enter any of these....PLEASE HELP...i need to access my computer
for papers that are saved on here and i do have any permission to access
these due to the administrator account.

There are two types of administrator accounts. There is an admin account
that can be created by the users and there's a hidden machine administrator
account which typically is named, "Administrator." Often, users don't
create a password for that account. Try treating this as a lost password as
follows. If the steps below don't fix it, I can only suggest doing a search
on www.google.com in an attempt to find something that will break or bypass
the passwords, thus allowing you access:

If you have XP Pro on your computer, at the log in screen type
ctrl-alt-delete
twice. In the user account type administrator, leave the password blank and
press enter. You likely didn't create a password for this hidden account
during setup and if the computer was purchased with XP pre-installed it
doesn't likely have one either,

If you have Home, boot into Safe Mode (F8 after the post test and before
Windows starts. Once Windows starts loading, you've missed it and will have
to try again). You'll have an option to log on as Administrator. Again,
the same procedure, you'll be asked to log in to get into safe mode, type
administrator, leave the password blank and press enter.

This will get you in. Then go to Control Panel, user accounts, select the
specific user and select change password. Once you've changed the password
it would be advisable to create a Password Reset Disk by clicking "Prevent a
Forgotten Password" link in the left pane.

Try going to control panel, administrative tools, computer management.

Then choose 'local users and groups' then 'users' then right click on
administrator and 'set password'
