address toolbar

Hi

I recently downloaded 'Hotbar' only to discover that
there was no address toolbar for entering URL's. I
uninstalled it to discover that the toolbar was still
missing. Admittedly, hotbar did warn me that I would have
to reinstall the toolbar if I decided to remove hotbar,
but I have no idea how to do this and I don't understand
why there wasn't a hotbar address toolbar in the first
place. How can I reinstall the toolbar? Incidentaly,
address bar is 'ticked' and it's definitely not 'hidden'.

Reset the toolbar setting from Registry using this fix:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_toolbarfix.htm

(or)

Download IE Addressbar fix from here:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IEToolbar.reg

[Close all browser windows and apply the .REG script]

Deletes the following registry key; Resets Toolbar, Addressbar positions to
defaults. Restores hidden/missing bars:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm afraid I don't
understand how to access the web pages you suggest. How
do I go about this when I can't enter URL's? How do I
access the registry?

Caroline,
Try...
Right-click on your toolbar and uncheck "Lock the toolbars." Grab the
"handles" on the other toolbars and move them around- up & down as well as
sideways. Does the address bar show up?

If unsuccessful with that, run regedit and delete this key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
then restart.

Post back if you need more help,
Don
