Recently, because I am stupid; I downloaded and installed
hotbar (from hotbar.com). At the time I was unaware as to
what it was but now I've been notified that it is
actually spyware, I've uninstalled it from my computer,
scanned and quarantined all associated files.
My problem is now that my internet explorer and outlook
express are missing the original blue skin background
that usually shows up around the toolbars (something to
do with windows xp skin tool being removed with
installation of hotbar) and the address bar in explorer
has vanished. If I right click and look at status bars to
tick the address bar function it is already available,
just not visible on my screen.
My computer is brand new and came all installed - is
there anyway I can get back the explorer/outlook default
settings without reinstalling the whole platform?

Thanks,
Nas

Remove Hotbar completely.
See tip 195:

ToolbarCop:

*Restore the Addressbar*
Download IE Addressbar fix from here:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IEToolbar.reg

Deletes the following registry key; Resets Toolbar, Addressbar positions to
defaults. Restores hidden/missing bars:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

*To reset the branding*
Click Start | run and type:
"rundll32 iedkcs32.dll, Clear"
