Address book

I have tried putting my email addresses from my old comp into my new Vista
syst. and windows mail.
It has stored them as contacts list.
They do not show up when I try to send an email from Windows Mail.
I have to go to the list, copy it and place it in the send message myself.
I have tried to import this list into the windows mail and it won't do it.

Can someone please help me before I send this whole Vista Screw up back to
dell and tell them what I think of it.

Please email me. This forum is giving me problems also.
PS: I'm not comp illiterate. Vista is a shambles.

How did you get them to Vista? The normal procedure is to copy the .wab
file to the Vista computer, and import it.

How are you trying to select the recipients? If they are in the Contacts
folder, they should appear when you click on To:. If you are trying to type
in the first part of the names, then that just doesn't work right. The
auto-complete just looks at ones you type in.

The auto-complete works correctly in the newer Windows Live Mail.

When I click on TO: I get a few addresses, the contacts list doesn't appear.
How do I get that list over to the TO: area.

I transferred mine from XP using the backup which created a .pst file then I
imported it into Windows mail, but I use MS Office and Outlook. YMV.
