When adding a contact to teh address book, I wanted to associate a telephone number with them, but on doing so another dialog box appeared "Location Information" asking for my own connection details. Since I don't have auto-dialing facility from my PC, I wonder why this is necessary, also there's no way you can cancel this if you try to do so, the window keeps poping up, meaning your only recourse is to either enter the details or to kill the application.

You don't add contacts with the address book. You add them with the
Contacts folder.

Entering your location information can't hurt.
Just do it and Windows should keep quiet.
Windows needs this information to detemine
how to present phone numbers
