address bar

I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled
Windows XP Home Edition. Since then when I type a web
address into the address bar in Internet Explorer 6.0, I
must type "http://". "www." alone does not do anything.
The full address "http://www.??????.???" manually typed
in. Can somebody please help me?

Check your IE6 Autocomplete setting:
Start/Settings/Control Panel/Internet Options and click on the Content tab.
At the bottom of the Content dialog, click Autocomplete.
In the Autocomplete Settings dialog, check the required box(es).
