address bar

It seems that my address bar has selective use. If I type
in certain addresses such as www.google.com it works.
However, if I type in address such as www.espn.com or an
address on my favorites list it does not work. When it
does not work, a message appears which displays cannot
find address is it one of these below. i find the address
on the list and click and it sends me to that address.
What is wrong with my computer? did I receive a virus or
spywear? please help, thank you

Sounds like spyware to me. Get Spybot Search and Destroy.
