Address bar drop-down menu gone!

Up until yestreday I always had a drop-down menu from my address bar, that
saved me having to re-type site addresses etc.

I did a routine disk cleanup etc and I now find out that the address bar
drop-down menu has gone!! When I click the little down arrow its just a blank
white drop-down box. I can re-type everything and it will stay there for as
long as the PC is turned on. As soon as I shut the PC down and go to use it
the next day the history is gone. Its seems to be being cleared at the point
the PC is shut down!!

Anyone got any ideas??

Am using IE7 & XP Home (service pack 2)

TIA

YES, it is not strange and because you chose to clean-up the History log.
Next time choose only Temporary Internet Files and the likes. For now you've to type-in the long URL again and it'll remember for
your next uses. Try it.

Hi,
The list you lost is the TypedURLs list. It's stored in the registry and
contains the last 25 addresses typed into the Address Bar. Clearing the IE
History from Internet Options> General doesn't clear this list.

Is a third-party cleaning program set to run automatically at startup,
shutdown or logoff? CCleaner, IE Privacy Keeper and other programs can be
configured to run this way. Check the options/settings of any cleaner
programs you've installed.

Hope this helps,
Don
