address bar problems

Steve

When I type an address in the address bar, it immediately
goes to "about:blank" website. When I try to change my
home page it changes back to "c:\searchpage.html"
or "about:blank". Also, I now have to type "http://"
before I type the address. For example, I have to
type "http://google.com" instead of just "google.com". I
have used ad-aware and spybot to remove spyware and I
wonder if I removed something important by mistake.
What's wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

I too am having address bar problems: When I enter a
word or phrase to do a search all I get is a cannot find
server message. Using the search buttons it is fine.
Can't figure it out and all internet options look
correct. Really annoying -- can anyone help?

Apparently not even Microsoft can as I cannot find a
solution to this problem on the tech site. I don't get
it, why distribute a product you can't support. I know
you have to edit the registry but I haven't had any luck.
