Address Bar Problem

I have recently acquired a 2nd hand pc.

In IE, whenever I type an address into the address_bar I
get the autocomplete facility helping me out. There are
some addresses that I wish to delete permanently.

I have tried selecting them and pressing delete.
I have also cleared out my history by going through
tools/internet options/clear history etc.

In addition I have gone into Tools/Internet
Options/Content/Auto Complete and unchecked etc.

Leaving the box unchecked is the only way that I can get
the addresses contained within the address bar to
disappear, however this is not a long term solution.

I want to delete the addresses permanently from the
address bar.

Can someone please help by suggestion a method other than
what I have already tried.
