You see when I type in key words in my search bar, I get
a list of site. This is usual, what is not usual is that
when ever I click to go to the link I recieve a The Page
cannot be displayed, message. Only one in ten sites can
be reach all the rest cannot be displayed. The problem PC
is my laptop. I have configured the desktop and the
laptop to be the exact same thing. The desktop takes me
anywhere I want to go but the Laptop goes nowhere. I
don't know what to do anymore.

I tried to adjust the Internet Explorer properties
because this is obviously a browser problem of some sort.
But I don't even know what to look for. My mind is just
blanking out here. I think it must be something simple.
The answers ususally are.

When I type in a direct address I go to the sites want.
But the links to anywhere not neccessarily the search bar
are dead. They all lead back to that evil cannot be
displayed page.

Anyone know how I can fix this.

-----------
update
I went to a help page and went through the motions. I now
have some more pages that are actually taking me
someplace but am not getting any msn pages at all. This
does not seem to be right but is a step in the right
direction at least. I am at a dead end though and would
like some assistance. I am still getting the evil red x
on msn mostly pages now. My desktop computer gets these
pages fine and we have tried switching wires around.

Again can anyone help me fix this?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
