Address Bar and CRTL+H issues

Hi to all who can help me,
I am really needing some help with my IE not erasing websites I have
visited that are almost a year old. The funny thing is the links are ones I
have not visited through IE. I think most of them I visited through AOL and
for whatever reason they showed up in IE.
I have tried many different things including going to: My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs and
erasing the addresses from there. I have also used Autocomplete which does
succeed in getting them off the address bar, but does not help me erase them
whihch is what I want to do. But they are still there.
I had already cleaned out the temporary internet files, history, and cookie
files. The links in question show up in the address bar of Internet Explorer
even though I have deleted everything. When I press CTRL+H in Internet
Explorer, websites I visited that are almost a year old still show up. I
tried to delete them individually in CTRL+H but when I right click with the
mouse and then click delete the links still do not go away. Can you offer any
help to get rid of this? I am desparate.

Hi ruttenbas :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, so I will have to
take a guess in answering, Try the following and see if it helps:

These URLs you're seeing are in the index.dat file in the History folder.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm
will delete the History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will
be created when
you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:

Deleting History and Typed URLs in Internet Explorer
http://www.wbaudisch.de/DeletingHistory.htm

Any links listed in your Favorites (including any pages you saved for
offline viewing) will not be deleted when the History is cleared normally.
Therefore, you must also check the box next to Delete ofline files on the
dialog box as well when you clear the Temp Files to be sure all files are
deleted.

also...

CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/
should be able to clear the History and the index.dat file.
Just check the appropriate boxes and run it.

Hope this helps.
