drop down address bar

On the drop down address bar, I am trying to delete
website links that pop up. I have deleted my cookies,
history, and temp internet files and there are websites I
have visited that pop up that aren't on my favorites
menu. (i.e.) If I was to type a (p) in the address bar it
would show all my favorites that begin with the letter p,
but there are websites that I have visited that aren't on
my favorites that pop up also. I would greatly
appreciate any help. I am using xp office as an OS and
internet explorer 6.0

If nothing there helps, most likely your history folder is corrupt; create a
new one as per the URL below:
