Adding monitor to Acer Aspir 9410 laptop.

I have added a remote monitor.

1) Both laptop moniotr ad remote monitor come on wth F5 key pressed. F5
function is supposed to allow me to choose just the remote monitor. How do I
choose just the remote monitor?

2) I wish to close the lap top and operate it with remote monitor, keypad
and mouse, but wish to keep laptop CLOSED and on a shelf nearby. When the
laptop is closed - it turns off - can I override this? Will the lap top
overheat if used while cosed?

Generally you press the FN key along with the designated F key to select
monitor. Check your user manual for any oddity that Acer may do.

To keep the laptop running with top down, Control Panel, Power Options,
Advanced tab. Select "Do nothing" for the top closed option.
This should not cause a heating problem. For prolonged use, I'd still
recommend adding a active cooling pad (device with some fans) under the
laptop, if the docking solution allows.
