I have a new XP computer. My old computer was 98. I am
trying to install the HD from my old computer into the new
one, so that I can pull the files off the old and put them
on the new. I'd then like to reformat the 98 HD and use
it for backup.

I can see the 98 HD in disk management, but it is not
assigned a drive letter. How do I access it, and copy the
files over to the XP HD? Is this even possible? The XP
is NTFS, the 98 is FAT.

TIA.

Yes, using disk management you can assign a drive letter
and view the files, right click the drive and select
properties, should be a tools menu and or actions to take,
can't exactly remember the exact steps, but I just did it
last night, so I know it can be done..
