adding a program to startup

ok..... I ve searched and tried, but I have a small mail utility that I want
to start when i fire up the computer...... where the hell do I put it?
I searched for "startup" and got a variety of folders none of which seem
like the right place.

Place the shortcut of that application here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (affects all
users)

You can also just drag and drop shortcuts to the startup folder right on
that start button. Just drag the shortcut to the start button and hold over
it until it opens, then drag to all programs, startup, and drop.
This puts it in your user startup folder.
