Adding a program to currently installed programs

My problem is that I installed programs while I had
Windows ME. I Removed ME and installed Windows XP Pro. I
saved my programs and games to another partition on my
hard drive and they are working fine. But these programs
are not showing in Control Panel's currently installed
programs. How can I add programs there, when they are
already on my hard drive on another partition. I would
like to update one program and to do so, Windows has to
recognize the original.

Unfortunately, it is not that simple. Even though you have the files for
your "installed programs", they are not actually installed on your Windows
XP installation. For most programs, you will need to install them on your XP
installation so that they properly update the registry and system file
locations.
