Add/Remove Programs...

Have a machine that as of this morning, I can no longer utilize the
Add/Remove Programs applet within the Control Panel.

The applet appears to load, but with a big window that states there are no
programs installed on this machine. If I scroll down, I can see the
programs, but once I click on any one of the installed programs, the
change/remove buttons are all greyed out and I cannot remove any programs.

I searched for a solution on Microsoft and found KB Article 266668. I
followed the instructions to the letter (except for performing an in-place
upgrade of the operating system), but it did not help me. Unfortunately,
there is software installed on this machine that will be lost if I perform an
in-place upgrade.

Any ideas?

Thanx.

Why would they be lost? These articles may help.

Be sure to apply these to your repair install before connecting to any
network.
