add/remove programs comes up with fault

When I go in to add/remove programs, I am getting the
message that an error has occured, and
res://spres.dll/default.hta comes up with line 84. Any
possible suggestions would be helpful. You can email me

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

You might try to reinstall IE, the article above also tells you how to do that.

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).
