I execute "add printer wizard" and I receive immediatly the
message "Insufficient resources".
OP SYS is windows 2000 5.00.2195 sp 3.
I have just checked the following :
(1) no virus (checked with Norton Internet Security 2005);
(2) spooler service is active(C:\WINNT\system32\spoolsv.exe) ;
(3) MS knowledge base report no idea (KB811348 isn't appliable).
Who help me ? Many thanks in advance. best regards.

Please provide the full, complete text of the "insufficient resources"
message.

Are there any entries in the System or Application Event Logs that have to
do with printing or the print spooler?

If practical, you might want to "clean" the printing subsystem by using the
cleanspl utility - see
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm for additional
information.

First of all many thanks for the info.
Unfortunatly the opsys is in italian, so the full text is
"Impossibile proseguire con l'utilizzo della stampante. Risorse
insufficienti. Impossibile completare l'operazione.".
Probably the best translation italian/english is
"Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resource. It's
impossible to complete the operation".
I add the following info:
(a) i am logged as administrator;
(b) there aren't logs involved in printing operation.
One additional question :
does Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools operate
correctly also under windows 2000 ?
many thanks in advance
