Hello sunshine,

Please try to compose a detailed post, explaining exactly what
you're doing, how far you're getting and what messages you
see on the screen. You will probably need a little more space
than just the Subject line!

I have tried again to install XP Pro on new hard drive. I booted & reformatted the partition & started install. I get cant copy wmilib.sys file, retry, skip or quit inst., so after trying 3 diff cd's & getting same ans. I skipped the file, now it went to cant copu rdbss.sys file, tried another cd, copied file, got the mess cant copy p3.sys file, none of the 3 copy's of xp pro will let it copy from here. I used this cd to install the OS on which I'm using - no prob. New question - Can I put the old hard drive back in and copy XP from that hd to the new hd?

Have you considered the possibility that your CD drive might
be faulty?

Here are a couple of methods to clone your old disk to the
new one:
- Use the cloning program that many disk manufacturers make
available on their home page.
- Use an imaging program such as Ghost or Acronis TrueImage.
