I want to account for gifts and pledges made by Contacts who are mannaged
using a custom form. If I could add and subtract within Outlook dollar
fields I would be home free.
Can I do this within Outlook? And if not what approach would you recommend?

Thank you.

Yes, you can do that with a formula field or a formula on a control. For example, if you have two custom fields named AmountA and AmountB, this formula returns the difference between them:

[AmountA] - [AmountB]

See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/forms.htm#formula
