Add a second hard disk

I just added a second hard disk and used Disk Management
to set it up. Comparing the hard disk 0, it is simple
layout vs partition layout and dynamic type vs basic
type. Is it a correct setup for a second hard disk
without any partition?

Thanks,

Your post is a little confused. The second hard drive (ide 1) should
have at least one partition (you won't be able to use it otherwise!)
and be basic, not dynamic. Go to Disk Management, create at least one
partition and format it with either ntfs or fat32, your preference.

I would *not* use dynamic disk on a stand alone machine. Start over and
in Disk management, right click on the drive - best in the 'Free space'
in the graphic representation bottom right,. and Create Partition, using
all the drive unless you have reason to subdivide it
