dynamic disk?

Hello,
I added a new hard drive (SATA 500 GB) to my system but Windows
insists on installing it as dynamic disk.
Control Panel. > Administrative Tools>Computer Management.

I do not know what dynamic disk is but for sure I do not want that. I need
that disk to be installed as a basic disk.
How to tell Windows about that?

/ Start / Help & Support / "dynamic disk" seems to have quite
a lot of information, e.g. 15 subtopics under "troubleshooting."
E.g. the "new disk" subsystem first asks whether you want
to instal a new drive via CLI or GUI. Would things go faster if
you reposted what steps you have taken and where they fail?

Just exit your way out of the screens that want to create the dynamic
disk and set it up as a basic disk. Create partitions on the
unallocated space on the disk and format them. Use your right click
menus for different options. If the disk was created as dynamic just
remove everything on it and revert it to a basic disk.

That is the problem.
I cannot set the partitions. There is not such choice.
The only choice I have is Set Volume which leads to dynamic disk setup.

Right click on the big grey buttons with the drive icons at the very
left of the Disk Management console screen, the ones that say Disk 1,
Disk 2, CD-ROM 0...
