AdAware Definitions update issue

Anyone else experiencing problems getting definition updates for AdAware ?
Went to their USA site ( lavasoftusa.com ) which looks like it's been
recently
updated and got the manual file from there. But on several PCs the internal
AdAware updater just stalls at around ~5%.

I had this same problem yesterday when installing AdAware. It seemed to cure
it's self after a reboot.

Same problem here.
Thought about uninstall/re-install but Lavasoft site now saying "Free to
try"
I suppose it was inevitable that someone would want to cash in.
Is this the end of this great freebie?

It stops at 5% or even less, and behaves funny. I tried to download the
"latest" from lavasoft Web site and thought I had succeeded: but it is
dated 19 September. And every time I start AdAware, a window pops up
keeps reminding me that the definitions are old.

definitions, dated 4 october, from lavasoft website. The URL of the zip
file is: http://download.lavasoft.com/updates/defs.zip
Attempts to update from inside the AdAware program continue to fail,
and give an error message.

I also got the Oct 4th update.

This problem with Lavasoft is ongoing at this time. I've sent email to their
support department, but they are not responding. With a large user base, you
would think that someone at the top would take a few minutes to let us know
what's going on. But then, all of the popular sites like Neowin appear to be
ignoring or are unaware of the problem.

I tried that and it says "error while downloading definitions" Perhaps this
is a corrupted file. I am not a registered use so how do I contact Lavasoft
to make them aware of this situation?

You can't. Apparently they're having major server problems, and have decided
to ignore any queries about it. Don't know how they figure that's good for
customer relations, but that is the way a lot of companies treat their
userbase these days.

I tried the manual download and it says "error downloading definitions" and
in Ad Aware SE Personal it says the file couldn't be downloaded and it could
be corrupt.

Looks like the downloads are working again, so just go back to the Lavasoft
site and do a manual download.
