for taking care of your ad-ware problem i would suggest buying the pro version of Lavasoft Ad-Aware as yoo can use it to find existing adaware and eliminate it. As well it will run in the background like a virus checker and prevent new adaware from being installed.

Also for antivirus software try grisoft's AVG antivirus.

Why pay? One pays to help support a product that you use
and has helped you in the past,do you really expect a
programmer to continue their efforts for nothing?
I have paid or donated to many free products and web
sites solely because I wish them to stay and to expand,I
am not a programmer or even in the computer biz I can't
write a program like ad-aware or or keep it updated so I
registered my free copy to help support it.
