AD Installation Failed

I just finished a fresh install of Win 2000 Advanced
Server.

Now to configure the Active Directory, I gave all the
required parameters, but when it got to a point, it came
back with Active Directory Installation Failed

The Operation failed with the following error:
The Network location cannot be reached. For information
about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.

Please note that this is a fresh install and I have not
configured TCP/IP on my card or any such thing yet. But
when I boot up the server, the first thing it wants to do
is install AD.

I have this on an HP Proliant Server ML110.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks

The first thing you need to do is configure TCP/IP. Let the wizard
hang out and wait while you do so.

you have to have the server hooked up to a hub or some sort of network
connection. It will fail if this is not done. Nothing has to be one the
network conecction.

Or better yet, if not planning on connecting it and using it just for
testing purposes, one can use the MS Loopback Adapter.
