ad-hoc 802.11g

Hi, I have two computers: A desktop pc and a notebook. The
notebook has a Ralink 2500 wireless LAN card integrated
(802.11g) and an AMD 64 3200+, while the desktop pc has a
Skintek sk-wlg-1201 wireless lan card (802.11g) and an AMD
duron 800 Mhz. I want to create a lan without the access
point, so I think that I can use 802.11g configurated
ad-hoc but windows hasn't a guidated procedure in this
case. I have tryed all possible configurations but the
cards haven't established a communication. If you can help
me send me an email and if you prefer also your msn
contact. Thank you for all replies, a microsoft xp user ;)
