AD Demote on E2K

We are running W2K with AD on two DC's. one DC has E2K on it. I have
another W2k box I want to make a DC and demote the E2k box. are there
any issues with E2k and AD involving the AD demotion?

Nah, you should be ok, unless you want to move Exchange also. I would
probably force the all Exchange service to manual, then stop the services,
then demote it, then make sure you join the machine to the domain right
after you demote it, then set the services to automatic and then start the
services. Check your Event logs and post back if you have any issues.

If you want to move Exchange, then that requires a few extra steps, but
you're doing the right think running Exchange on a member server.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your posting here.

As I know, there is not any issue. It just looks like Exchange 2000 works
on a member server after demotion.

If you have any further concern about this issue, I would like to suggest
that you submit a new post in our Exchange news groups:

microsoft.public.exchange.admin
microsoft.public.exchange
microsoft.public.exchange2000.general

I believe that you will get more specific and detailed suggestions there.
