when i visit a certain web page i get a pop up to click to run an Active X on
this webpage-if i click ok i get kicked off -same thing happens if I X out of
the pop up any clues what to do? (the webpage is a family newsletter)

I'd check first with your family and see if they have their site hosted
on a site with an Active X popup. They can check with their provider
and see what it is.
