ActiveX Control Authority

What authority does an ActiveX control run under? The authority of the
userid that's logged on to the system? In other words if I'm logged on as
administrator will ActiveX controls have more authority than if I'm logged
on as a standard user or as a guest?

activex is a dangerous thing. in ie
tools,options,security,custom level. and there are the
settings.

Agreed ActiveX is dangerous, and I'm familiar with the IE settings. What I
want to know is if the danger is any less if I'm logged on as a standard
user instead of administrator.
