active x issues

hi, i attempted to go to symantec online virus check. it
starts then stops and says i need IE 5 or higher and
active x and scripting enabled. i checked active x and
scripting and both are enabled, and i have IE 6 plus all
the service packs. do i need to reinstall active x or
something? i remember somewhere there was like an active x
pack to install or something like that. i scanned in
safemode for viruses and it is up to date none found.
symantec hasn't gotten back to me in several days so i
came to here for the "real" help as always you guys rock.

Do you have sp2? To find out go to start/run/winver/it will tell you, if so
