Active Graphics

I just got FP 2003 (upgrade) and can't get the active graphics working like
they used to. In particular the little graphic bullets no longer blink or
flash like in 2002.

Did MS change 2003 or do I just not have something turned on yet? Thanks.

could you explain exactly what you're doing that isn't rendering as it was.
do you have a url for the failing active graphics? could you define better
what you mean by "active graphics"?

HTH

I'm talking about the graphic bullets that FP puts to the left side of a
bulleted list when using a FP Theme.

The themes are handled differently in FP2003, then in prior versions.

Which specific theme are seeing this problem with?

I tried Rice Paper, Ripple, Satin and I checked the box for Active Graphics
for each.

Suzy,

In FP2002:

Looking at the Rice Paper theme, I do not see the bullets as being active, just the navigation. The
same with Ripple or Satin.

Oh, so not all themes have active graphics then?

The themes are active, however not all elements of the theme are active. I not seen any of the FP
theme that have the bullets as active graphics, just the navigation bar.

Well, thanks for your help. I thought I remembered Blends as having "active"
bullets in 2002.

And when you selected Active Graphics did you get the different bullet images after applying the themes and previewing in browser ?

For example Rice uses a series of aricebuX.gif images for active and ricebuX.gif for normal

But since FP 2003 Themes are applied using CSS by default, you may only get the normal graphic unless you modify the theme normal
graphic to also use the same image

Stefan,
Please re-explain what you said. I didn't understand at all. Are you saying
because of changes from 2002 to 2003 that that I must do something to modify
the theme to get active bullets? I am not a programmer and therefore don't
know the difference between aricebuX.gif images for active (graphics) and
ricebuX.gif for normal (graphics). What should I do to "modify the theme
normal graphic to also use the same image"?

I know some people just don't like the active graphics but I do. Thanks for
your help.

Suzy,

Are you seeing active graphics in the navigation?

Not a programming thing

Format Themes Customize (select the drop down in the task pane) to see what's in a theme (Graphics has the images for bullets on the
Normal and Active Tabs)

You may need to modify the theme to use the same bullet images in both Normal and Active and then Save as a new theme name (and
apply it)

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
