active directory error - can't login

When ever I try to start "Active Directory User and Computers" I get
the following error:
"Naming information cannot be located because:
The logon atemp failed."

What can I do to fix this? I need to add some more users and change
some permissions.

its a dns issue most probably make sure your server is pointing at the
internal DNS server
