problem with Active Directory

Hi

I am facing problem with windows 2000 Active Directory. When I click on
Active Directory Users and Computers it is showing me an error as Naming
information can not be located because The target principal name is
incorrect. Contact your system administrator to verify that your domain is
properly configured and is currently online.
If I click on Active Directory sites and services or Active Directory
Domains and Trust it is giving same error.

What could be the problem. Need help.

When you nslookup domain.name do you get a reply? I suspect your DNS
service is not running or the computer is misconfigured for DNS. AD
Domain computers and servers must use ONLY the local AD DNS server for
resolution.
