Active Directory and installation of Adobe

We have a Problem with Adobe Acrobat version 5.5 and 6.0 which is due to PDF
port not being installed correctly.

We have created an MSI of Adobe to allow deployment via Active directory.
When the MSI is installed locally with Administrator rights the PDF port is
working fine and we can print to the PDF printer via other applications
etc..
However, when the MSI is deployed and installed through Active Directory it
is not creating the PDF port and the printer in windows XP is offline and
only appears after a restart, the printer then has no ports available to it.

Therefore I think there are some permission issues with the Active Directory
deployment has anyone had problems with this method of deployment of
Acrobat.

Hello, You may can take use of the follow Group Policy Setting.

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Installer\
Always install with elevated privileges

This Setting is located both under Computer Configuration Node and User
Configuration Node and should be set at both.

Thanks for the advice Chriss
I have just checked the GPO settings and that is already set to enabled in
both user and machine (to make sure that it gets set)
(I thought it was but checked anyway to make sure)
so that does not solve the problem :(
any help is greatly appreciated
cheers

May the package doesn't take advantage of this features. How ever try to
install the package manually logged in as a user in the particular OU. How
ever you can try change the ACL for the %ProgramFiles% Folder to give users
access to write data in to that folder.
