activation code on the same computer

I purchased and installed Windows XP Home onto my MacBook Pro in a separate
patition so that I could boot this HD as a Window OS with Bootcamp. It works
fine. I activated the code. No problems.

Then I booted the HD with the MacOS system and installed Parallels. This
allows me to also be able to use Windows under that separate partition. I
installed Windows and had no problems until I need to activate it. I was
denied. Microsoft does not realized that I am running the Windows twice, on
two separate partitions but under the same computer's HD.

Is there a way of getting the Activation Code to be accepted on partition
no. two?

If not, is there a way of unstalling Windows on the first partition and then
be able to get an Activation Code for the other volume? I am worried that if
I uninstalled Windows and only ran from the MacOS X side that I still would
not be allowed to activate because Microsoft would not know that I
uninstalled the first installation.

Thanks

You can use the 'phone in' option available on the activation dialog to get
the second one going, and if you waited 120 days, it could be done as usual,
online.

That said, only one of those installs is going to have the 'update' ability.
There is always the 'windows catalog' available, to download and 'install to
offline machines'

Your Windows XP license states quite clearly "You may install, use,
access, display and run one copy of the Product on a single
computer..." (file c:\windows\system32\eula.txt)

You are going to have to make a choice as to which way you want to use
your Windows XP. You can continue to use the original install on
separate partition or you can delete this partition and then activate
the second install (the one using Parallels). You will have to do a
telephone activation of this, and explain to them that you have
removed your original install and have reinstalled using a different
procedure.

Good luck

Apparently they did realize that, and, as designed, product activation
prevented the second installation from working.

Buy a second license; you've two installations of WinXP, so you need
two licenses.

Yes. Uninstall it and then activate the remaining installation via
telephone.
