I have a laptop with windows xp professional installed.
after having it for 1 year when I try to use it in normal
mode, whilst working the screen blacks out and I have to
re-start. I checked my event viwer and I get the message
"acpi bios attemting to write to an illegal pci operation
region (0x4)"
But this doesn't happen in VGA mode. My graphics card is a
S3 graphics twister.

Can anyone help me!!
 
Update the S3 driver and the laptop chipset driver, to see if this would
help.
