Acer Scanner Prisa 620P parallel driver problem with XP

Glorub

Hi!

I can't install my old Acer Prisa 620P parallel scanner
on XP Pro. The file mirascanv3424p containing the
supposedly XP compatible driver found on the acer.com
site installs itself properly but then XP asks for the CD
(the CD I have doesn't work) and finally says the
hardware wasn't installed properly. XP refers to the
scanner as "Color FlatbedScanner SCSI Scanner Device 11"
but i know my scanner is a parallel one. Then the "found
new hardware wizard" proposes a list of
flatbedscanner_13,16,19,20,21,23 and 5 under "Acer
Peripherals,Inc." but no sign of 11...
Please help! :)

Thank you.

Windows XP only supported 2 parallel scanners and they are HP models. There
is no Acer inbox parallel drivers. (XP supports the 620u.)

You would have to get some old driver from Acer (now called "Benq"), but I
couldn't guarantee it would work - parallel devices are legacy w/no future.

good luck!
