account user passwords

irecently changed my password on my user account on
windows xp now i can't remember it is there anyway to
recover or disable this so i can get back on my computer
because without the password i am locked out completely
and can't use the computer HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Just to get an complete picture, is your computer part of
a LAN like an office network? Or is it a stand alone PC?

it is a stand alone pc and yes it is the administrative
password i am missing also
