Accidentially deleted wrong .pst folder

In Outlook 2003 I accidentially deleted a secondary hotmail email account
that had some valuable personal folders with it. I've tried importing and
opening the data files that probably contain the folders but it won't let me
because they're not .pst files (they're .bak).

Is there a way to get them back?

A *.bak file is usually a backup file created with whatever backup software
you were using, NTbackup?
