My dumb self deleted the sound on my laptop. Now I can't play music or
anything. Whatcan I do about this? The sound is completely gone, there is no
way I can bring it back...or is there? Is there a program I can buy or
anything like that? Because I need sound on my computer. How can I get it
back?!?

Hi,

If this issue is recent, use System Restore to restore the system to a
date and time just before the sound stopped working.

Check in device manager to see if the audio device is working or is there an
exclamation mark or question mark against it. If there is then you need to
install the drivers for your sound. You could also try system restore if you
know when you removed the sound and there is a restore point just before
that time.

Well, it probably would've worked, but this issue wasn't recently, it was
more than 4 months ago. I just made an issue of it because I installed a new
iPod program and I can't play any songs on my computer.

It might help to know what you actually deleted, drivers, audio codecs or an
XP system file, registry entry, icon, etc..?
Can you remember..?

well, like I said, I have no clue what I'm doing. All I did was delete
something and bam, no more sound. I clicked on volume control, but it said
ther are no devices available.

Hi-
I don't have a laptop, but just a thought. Do you have software for sound?
Did it originally need to be installed?
Just a suggestion.

Ok, this is a long shot, since you seem to be so delete happy, lol..
Maybe, hopefully, what you deleted is still in the Recycle bin, if it is,
then restore it to it's original location..
What is the make & model # of the laptop..?
