Accessories has dissappeared from program files in my start menu. How do I
located and replace? Tried putting a copy on my hard drive from another
computer on my network, but after putting the file in program files folder
and dragging and dropping into program files on the start menu, it would not
appear.

add windows components from the cd, go to control panel>add remove
programs>add Windows components.

Yes, I found this suggestion in Help & Support - but it didn't work - I still
cannot see Accessories>System Tools or Entertainment etc on my Start Menu>all
programs menu!

The accrestore utility that someone recommended said it had restored the
accessories menu - but it hasn't!

I am at my wits end to know what to do next? Because without easy access to
the system tools menu, it makes it such a chore to navigate to and run system
restore, defrag, disk cleanup etc.

As I've already tried the steps recommended by "Ramesh, MS-MVP" neither of
which worked, I am still looking for an answer that might! I find it strange
that Ramesh thinks that the accessories group is not usually displayed in the
start>all programs menu. Because if it is not supposed to be there (a) why
does Microsoft have an article giving you one way to try to fix the problem?
(b) Why does he include a link to a program that's supposed to fix it? And
(c) how come it WAS displayed in my start>all programs menu since I first
installed XP Pro in 2004 right up until I formatted my HDDs and did a fresh
installation of XP Pro a couple days ago - on 17 February 2006?

So if you have any other suggestions that might fix the problem of the
accessories group disappearing from the start>all programs please reply???
