Accessing Win XP folder from macintosh

Hello,
I have a Win XP Home Edition. I want to make some folder
accessible from my Mac OS 9 system on the same network.
How can i Do that.
I did find some documentation that suggested I go to
Control Panel->add remove programs->add remove windows
components. and check Other Network File and Printer
sharing option. But that hasn't worked.
Can someone please help.
