Accessing Private Folders

Robin

I've just partially recovered from a windows\system32
\config\system - corrupt file error but the folders I had
set at private are no longer accessable to me. I am not
on a network (stand alone laptop). Is there anyway of
accessing them, I've tried re-creating the same user logon
and password but to no avail. Has anyone got any ideas -
Many thanks.
